Comment: It is very dificult for to read english poetry, because language is not the common talked by people. But Ann Segrave's poetry is elegant and paintfully descriptive. Congratulations to the author.

Comment: I....marvel at your felicity with words, your observations so sharp and so arrestingly described....I especially enjoyed the Lady Errant section as you uncovered Paris and Amsterdam and other foreign places...Well done!

Comment: The poems have a strong, careful, contemplative voice running through, and like, say, Edward Thomas, such a strong sense of place and grounding that I love. Particular favourites so far: 'Aviatrix',' For Merlin' and....'The Word Catcher'.

Comment: I just want to say that the poem about the blackbird is so good. I don`t think it would be possible to write a better one on that subject. I love the walk with Merlin too. You are able to suggest movement and action - quite difficult in poetry, I think. 'And it was green' - such a wonderful evocation of Spring.

Comment: The reading went beautifully well. Having read the poems on my own it was wonderful to hear them said aloud. I think my favourites are 'Aviatrix' and 'The Word Catcher', but I like them all in different ways. This was my first poetry event. There was a really nice atmosphere in the cafe: animated converstaion during the interval and spellbound silence while you were reading. The book looks very good as well...

Comment: I greatly identify with your appreciation of nature, geology, plants, seasons, landscapes - expressed so beautifully. I love the Sussex section - especially 'May' and 'Today'. Also your poems on motherhood - there is so much to resonate with....there seems no end to the delight of opening the book randomly and finding yet another treasure!

Comment: I must congratulate you on 'Aviatrix'. Your poems are brilliant, whether celebratory or uplifting or sad and personal. The precision and originality of language and image, perception and observation are great, the control of cadence and rhythm very skilful. You have a distinctive individual poetic voice - a precious gift.
